Why Plumbers Charge So Much: The Plumber’ s Hourly Rate
With all the more pressing bills to pay, and all the money you dish out to spoiled kids, you don’ t think that you should have to throw money away on the hourly rate of plumbers. Well, unless you want to stick your arm down your own yucky pipes you should probably hire someone else to do it. Although it would be handy if your spouse was a plumber, the chances of that are slim, no matter how good with a wrench he thinks he is. So why not stick your neck out and hire a plumber?
Why They Charge So Much
The reason why plumbers charge such a high hourly rate is because they can. There really aren’ t any regulations in place that limit the amount a plumber can charge for his services. Also, any plumber knows that if he is really needed, you will pay, and pay dearly.
Many would like to think that the plumber’ s hourly rate is based upon his experience, and skill. In some cases that is indeed the case, but in most it is just because they want more money. I’m not trying to complain about the high price a homeowner has to pay for quality plumbing work, I am just trying to inform the average consumer.
Why You Complain
The average American makes $30,000 a year. With utilities, mortgages, car payments, groceries, children, and gas to pay for, who has the ready blunt to fork over to an overpriced pipe cleaner? So, yeah, you’ re going to complain about the plumber’ s hourly rate. You’ re going to scream at the top of your lungs about the unfairness of it all. You’ re going to spit daggers at your husband for clogging the toilet in the first place, and then you’ re going to rant and rave again. But, in the end, you’ re going to pay the plumber’ s hourly rate.
Why You Still Pay
The reason why so many people actually call a plumber and pay the plumber’ s hourly rate isn’ t because they are so reasonably priced. It’ s because they offer an invaluable service to people. As much as they want to complain, it will be a relief once their pipes are all in order again, despite the price they had to pay out of pocket.
When the time comes to call the plumber, get the ranting and raving out of the way first. Because once the plumber arrives to save your carpet from drowning, you will be all smiles.
